You have every right to be involved with the repair of your vehicle.

It’s unfortunate, but auto accidents occur every day all around the world. When they happen, most people aren’t prepared for the costly repairs that will ultimately follow. Whether you have recently been in an accident or if you know someone who has, selecting the right auto body repair shop will save you a lot of stress during this hectic time.

- First and foremost, take a glance around any auto body repair shop before you commit to hiring them for your repairs. Is it well lit and clean?

- The next thing to consider is whether or not the auto body repair shop has up-to-date and modern equipment. Does their equipment look as though it’s in good condition and well cared for?

- If they allow it, ask someone to give you a tour of the facility or if you can browse around on your own. For reasons of safety, some auto body repair shops will not allow a tour but others may permit a brief one providing a technician is with you.

- While inside, take a brief scan of the area to see if there are any signs, plaques or other indication of the training that the auto body technicians have undergone.

Qualifications and training are extremely important when it comes to auto body repair. If the job is done well, repairs should help the car to look brand new again. Window replacement, painting, parts replacement and other work are some of the more visible repairs that are done following an accident. If your automobile is painted, you will want to look for any small paint bubbles that may remain after the work is done. In addition, you will want to make sure that the glass is placed securely back inside the car and will not rattle or shake, which would indicate the window is loose.

It is important to inquire about the auto body repair shop’s policy if you are unhappy with the work. Will they fix it at no additional charge and how long will the extra repairs take? If you notice any problems with the body work of your automobile, tell the technician or business owner before leaving the repair shop. It is best to bring up any concerns immediately in order to confirm the problem is a result of incorrect repair work. If you do happen to notice a problem after you get the car home, call the repair shop immediately and let them know that you will be returning your automobile for additional repairs.

At Dixie Auto Body, we stand behind our work 100% and encourage our customers to ask questions and be involved with the repair of their vehicle.

Giving back to the community

Most small businesses that do business in smaller communities will be there for their town in their time of need, and they also give to the nonprofits in the city. They feel a sense of connection and they feel that it is the right thing to do to support local causes. Often, larger companies do not give as much to the local community, although as good corporate citizens they may give to larger national causes and use that to strengthen their brand name. It’s all good as they say, still, it is the towns and communities in America that really need the help, and doing good deeds locally is a life saver for so many small groups. If you are an entrepreneur, I have some advice for you. You should never just scrape the cream off the top in a community and leave, you must (if you want your business to grow, think more long-term). Give a little back as you grow. For years, I made a point that no matter how much I expanded my business, or how many cities we sold franchises in, I would always help local causes, and make sure our franchisees did as well. So if you ask me; “Is It Important for Businesses to Give Back to Their Community?” My answer is, for me it is absolutely a necessity. You see, folks that make a ton of money, without respect for the town, don’t impress me, I am sickened by that, I think it’s just disgusting, thus, will not associate with those who don’t care. Maybe they just don’t get it, but either way, they are of no value to me, or their communities. Please consider this. Lance Winslow is a retired franchisor – Lance Winslow’s Bio. Let’s face it, being involved in an auto collision can be a frightening and even painful experience. If you have been in a collision you know first hand how overwhelming and confusing the process of getting a vehicle towed, dealing with insurance claims, and police reports can be. All of this before you have even had a chance to think about the repair process! Whew! Just thinking about it makes me break out in a sweat!

Well, I have good news for you. The friendly office staff  at Dixie Auto Body is trained to take the strain out of this entire process for you. By the time we tow the vehicle in to repair it, we are already in the process of working with the insurance companies involved. Our well-trained staff may even be arranging a rental car or a ride for you to get to work or your home. Now that’s what I call a hassle free experience.

If you should unfortunately experience an accident this holiday season, call Dixie Auto Body first, and make it easy on yourself!

Recently my car needed a new bumper due to an accident. This is to say thank you to you and your staff for the excellent service and quality workmanship.

The car was returned to me nicely cleaned as well as repaired and painted.

Also, the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable.

Thank you again for helping me make an unpleasant incident, the accident, into something so positive.

Sincerely,

Judy

Using PPG’s waterborne paint helps improve the environment.

Going green with PPG’s waterborne automotive paint systems is easy—and you won’t sacrifice your shop’s performance or quality.

Using waterborne automotive paint is good for employees, too.

Since waterborne contains lower VOC than solvent, it is easier to control the air quality inside a shop or spray facility. While standard safety equipment is still required, you can virtually eliminate the harsh odors associated with using solventborne paint throughout your facility.

Environmental Benefits

  • Reduces production of volatile organic compounds (VOC)
  • Improves air quality
  • Promotes health and safety of employees
  • Achieves performance and quality

We are very excited here at Dixie Auto Body, as we are now all set up and ready to use our second down draft paint booth. This will increase our capacity for more vehicles in the repair facility at any given time.

This new ‘addition’ to our shop, along with our full customer service should really be a treat for our new and returning customers.
